Inclusive leaders are committed to strategies that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice, and cross-cultural competencies in the workplace. In this course, you’ll learn the key competencies, principles, theories, and practices of inclusive leaders. Leaders of global organizations and companies must navigate cultural and interpersonal differences and know how and when to leverage human capital to sustain growth. Developing skills in interpersonal relationships, conflict management, intersectionality, systems thinking, and social and emotional intelligence are some of the foundational elements of inclusive leadership. Through this course, you’ll understand the business case for inclusiveness and be prepared to practice the skills of equity-minded leaders.
Inclusive leaders engage talent acquisition and retention strategies that increase the talent pool while encouraging diverse perspectives to drive individual and team performance. Creating an inclusive workplace serves to eliminate performance impediments so that employees feel respected and their endeavors are valued. As organizational leaders engage with various stakeholders, their ability to leverage the power of diverse teams is critical. In this course, you’ll learn to use empowerment, accountability, and collaboration to lead high-performing groups and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in your organizations. As part of that growth, you’ll also explore the reasons why team members engage and how to recognize patterns of disengagement.
In this course, you’ll gain awareness and tools for successfully building and leading inclusive organizations. You’ll assess and gain insights into your strengths and identify opportunities for growth and improvement in your inclusive leadership skills. You’ll also improve your cross-cultural competence and exercise moral courage to challenge false assumptions. Finally, you’ll examine the roles that mentorships, sponsorship programs, and affinity groups play in developing inclusive teams to create allies within the organization. Throughout the course, you’ll learn to use emotional intelligence, active listening, courage, humility, and curiosity to lead an inclusive organization with trust, fairness, and consistency.
