National Ranks Third in the Nation in Granting Master’s Degrees in Education to Minorities

La Jolla, Calif. – National University provides more master’s degrees in education to minority students – including African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, and Native Americans – than any other college or university in California, according to Diverse Issues in Higher Education

In total, National University conferred 703 master’s degrees in education to minorities in the 2005-2006 academic year. Minority students represented 32 percent of the total master’s graduates from National University in 2005-2006.

In total, 380 Hispanics, 174 African Americans, 130 Asian Americans, and 19 Native Americans earned their master’s degrees in Education from National University in 2005-2006. National University is first overall in California in granting master’s degrees in education to every minority category. National is first in the nation in granting master’s degrees in education to Hispanics and third in the U.S. in granting master’s degrees in education to Asian Americans.

Diverse Issues in Higher Education publishes its annual rankings of the top 100 colleges and universities providing graduate degrees to minority students each July. The rankings are based upon data from the U.S. Department of Education.
