National University Professor Linda Travis Macomber Recognized at Athena Pinnacle Awards

National University Professor Linda Travis Macomber, who brings more than 25 years of experience coordinating health information technology initiatives, was recently recognized for her work as a finalist in the Education category at the 2017 San Diego Athena Pinnacle Awards, which celebrates women in STEM fields.

For over 25 years, Professor Macomber has specialized in clinical/nursing informatics, electronic health records (EHR) and the effective infusion of innovative technologies into clinical and nursing practice. As program director of the National University Master of Science in Health Informatics and certificate programs, Professor Macomber is leading efforts to prepare a new generation of health IT leaders who are blending technology with innovation to advance health care and support healthier lives.

Athena, which held the recognition event May 5, is a San Diego-based business organization championing women executives and rising managers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
