Student Teaching Seminar II

Course Description

This course is taken concurrently with TED 530B: Student Teaching II and provides student teachers with opportunities to integrate and reflect on designing effective differentiated instruction for diverse K12 learners. Candidates are required to pass CalTPA Task (4) Culminating Teaching Experience.

Learning Outcomes

  • Analyze the effectiveness of an implemented lesson plan based on standards-based outcomes for a PK12 class and identified focus students by examining student work samples, use of class time and resources, students’ learning needs, future instructional needs for the students, strengths and weaknesses of the plan, and possible goals for professional practices.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of personal classroom management strategies implemented in a PK12 classroom by examining class and individual management challenges; common factors; critical events; proposed changes to teaching practices based on analysis; and next steps for professional development.
