Videotape Analysis

Course Description

This course will provide students with extended time and opportunities to explore and comment on accomplished teaching practices related to the NBCT standards in their fields of expertise.

Learning Outcomes

  • Communicate your rationale for using certain instructional approaches captured in your video tapes and explain how your practice resulted in increased learning for students.
  • Use an organizational tool to outline the requirements for your Entries and identify the engaging and interactive strategies that you plan to capture in the tapes.
  • Produce video tapes that capture elements of engagement and interaction of teacher- to- students and student-to- students.
  • Use the NBCT Scoring Rubrics to support and develop a written analysis of your tapes that aim to provide clear, consistent and convincing evidence of student learning. Reflect on your practice and determine steps for growth and improvement.
