Course Description
Examination of the interconnection between geography, politics, history, and economic development in major regions of the world within a global context assessing the impact of these factors on education with specific emphasis on the U.S. educational system.
Learning Outcomes
- Examine key Specialization concepts regarding how socio-economic, demographic, geographic, historical, and political factors impact education at local, regional, national, international levels.
- Evaluate the geographical, historical, and economic factors that impact educational systems in major regions of the world with attention to contrasts among various countries and regions.
- Analyze current issues and challenges confronting US schools and educational institutions.
- Synthesize relevant course concepts, literature, and materials to develop practical solutions to contemporary issues involving education locally and globally with a focus on US schools
