Ethical and Legal Issues
Course Description
Focus on local, state and federal statutes and regulations in early education settings. Emphasis on ethical codes of conduct, including analysis of legal and ethical dilemmas and practice.
Learning Outcomes
- Explain ethical, legal and professional responsibilities as outlined in the various ethical, legal and professional codes and standards.
- Formulate resolutions to various ethical, legal and professional dilemmas.
- Demonstrate communication skills in interpreting the various ethical and legal resolutions to families, staff and the professional community
- Use National Association for the Education of Young Children Code of Ethics to formulate well-reasoned resolutions for ethical dilemmas.
