Course Description
Focus on acquiring and enhancing skills in the selection, administration, scoring, interpretation, reporting of screening assessment instruments. Emphasis on designing and implementing curricula based on assessment results.
Learning Outcomes
- Analyze data collected from observations and assessments in planning new learning experiences and/or strategies for identification and referral.
- Explain the selection and use of formal and informal developmentally appropriate assessment instruments to teachers, family members, and professionals
- Demonstrate communication skills involving families in the assessment process and/or need for further assessments
- Identify terms such as authentic assessment, formative assessment, summative assessment, documentation panels, photo essays, and other terms.
