Nurse Anesthesia Human Anatomy
Course Description
The Nurse Anesthesia gross anatomy course will provide the graduate nurse anesthesia student with a focused, advanced exploration of normal human anatomy, morphology, and embryology as it relates to anesthesia practice. The course utilizes both a lecture and laboratory component with gross anatomy laboratory dissection and pro-section study.
Learning Outcomes
- Develop a secure view of the macroscopic structure and organization of the human body, in sufficient detail to provide an adequate foundation for the practice of nurse anesthesia.
- Appraise fundamental interrelationships between structure and function in the laboratory and classroom.
- Appraise topographic relationship between internal structures and superficial features visible or palpable in the living person.
- Evaluate normal anatomical age related variation of structural changes that occur from infancy to advanced age.
- Evaluate the embryological basis of adult anatomy.
