Mindfulness Stress Mgt

Course Description

Examines the impact and effects of stress on individuals and within organizational systems on health and well being. Identifies evidence-based strategies to minimize the consequences of stress. Practical experiences in mindfulness based stress reduction, biofeedback, compassion cultivation, meditation, and journaling are included.

Learning Outcomes

  • Examine the consequences of stress on individual mind-body-sprit as well as the impact in organizational environments.
  • Assess the attitudes, values and beliefs as an aspect of positive health and stress management.
  • Differentiate the various stress and self-awareness practices such as mindfulness, meditation, compassion cultivation, journaling, guided imagery, biofeedback as methods for effective stress management.
  • Design a positive lifestyle plan that incorporates stress management approaches and techniques.
