Healing Envir Modalities
Course Description
Examines the philosophies, elements and health effects of healing environments. The cultural and global context of healing environments and traditions and specific practices will be examined. Other healing modalities such as nature therapy, yoga, qi gong, animal therapy, sound healing, color therapy, music and expressive arts will be explored.
Learning Outcomes
- Analyze the elements and health effects of a healing environment.
- Evaluate the philosophies and global traditions that support healing environments.
- Examine evidence-based practices of the therapeutic benefits of music, art, color, sound and animal therapies.
- Evaluate the role and therapeutic impact of natural elements (color, nature, lighting, air quality, temperature, smells and noise) in a healing environment.
