Course Description

Course addresses issues and concerns related to the affordable care act, Section 2706 which allows non-discrimination access to health care. Patient centered advisory councils, liability, access to treatment, dietary regulations are just some of the other topics covered in this course. The political issues of blending CIH in a variety of medical environments is included.

Learning Outcomes

  • Synthesize the major historical events by which complementary medicine has made inroads into the political and economic control of health care in the U.S.
  • Examine the Affordable Care Act sections related to integrative health.
  • Analyze the legal, ethical and political issues raised by integrative health providers.
  • Assess the impact of health policies on reimbursement and delivery of services.
