Crisis Response Intervention
Course Description
This course provides students with knowledge and training in the prevention and intervention of school crisis. The framework focuses on students developing a protocol for the preparation, prevention, response, and recovery of a crisis while accounting for the mental health, physical safety and health of individuals related to the crisis.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will formulate a plan for a comprehensive school based multi-disciplinary crisis team.
- Students will evaluate evidence-based interventions and strategies to support students and staff.
- Students will assess the potential for a traumatic event.
- Students will design a crisis response plan based on school and community resources for a school campus.
