Curriculum Interventions
Course Description
This course provides students knowledge and training in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) which includes Response-to-Instruction and Intervention (RtI). The framework focuses on differentiated learning and provides supports and resources for K-12 students in the areas of academics and behavioral success.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will compare the similarities and differences between Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
- Students will appraise effective instruction, specifically data driven instruction, instructional placement, and interventions.
- Students will evaluate the integration of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in the Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) in a K-12 setting.
- Students will examine the role of the school psychologist within the Multi-tiered Systems of Support/Response-to-Intervention (MTSS/RTI) framework.
