School Resource Management
Course Description
Introduction to public school finance policies and practices, emphasizing site level finance. Exploration of federal, state, and local revenue sources, district and school budgeting, and financial management procedures. Introduction to public school budgeting and accounting procedures. Direction by practicing school administrators when investigating issues in public school finance. Nevada only.
Learning Outcomes
- Evaluate the resources necessary for a productive school environment that nurtures student learning and supports the professional growth of teachers and support staff.
- Analyze resources that are necessary for establishing student behavior management systems.
- Develop a school budget that uses technology to align fiscal, human, and material resources to support the learning of all subgroups of students.
- Synthesize leadership strategies for making and communicating financial and budgetary decisions based on relevant data and research about effective teaching and learning, leadership, management practices, and equity.
