Visionary Leadership

Course Description

An examination of the importance of a shared vision to shape the culture and improve the climate of a school that serves a diverse population of students. Ethics and philosophy of leadership are used as lenses through which to better understand the interplay of the school’s internal and external stakeholders as it pertains creating and managing the vision.

Learning Outcomes

  • Examine the relationship between a school’s vision and a school’s diversity when building a collaborative relationship with the community.
  • Develop a plan for a school vision that will provide opportunities for a shared commitment among all members of the school community.
  • Analyze the concept of leading by example to promote the implementation of the school vision.
  • Explore effective strategies of working with the school community to ensure shared school leadership.
